Skin Food: Cucumber Yogurt Soap
Today I'm diving deeper into the fun, fresh "skin food" ingredients I've put into one of my latest summer seasonal soaps. Some of my newest bars are chock full of foodie nourishment and skin goodies, and I want to explain what they've got and why.
My very first thought when coming up with a new soap is that I (me personally) want better soaps and skin products for my skin as I get older. And I firmly believe that my lovely customers should have the very best too! As I've learned more over the years - and there is so much new information out there - it only made sense to incorporate that science and knowledge into my products. Everything evolves, but I'm in the camp that believes evolution should get BETTER over time, not worse. And I work hard to make that happen, in life and in business.
Today the focus is on the Cucumber Yogurt Soap. Real, fresh squeezed cucumber juice and rich organic yogurt are added to this recipe for the perfect blend of hydrating, soothing and refreshing. Both of these fresh foods are calming for irritated skin (yes, even sunburns). The milk fats in the yogurt add a little extra nourishing moisturizer too. Aloe vera oil, long held as a primo product for moisturizing and healing skin, is known to have anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. This extra boost helps skin that's had a bit too much sun, bug bites, over exposure to the elements and any other irritation - just the kinds of things that enjoying summer outdoors will do to us. Lastly, Avocado oil is easily absorbed into the skin, adding great moisturizing benefits plus Vitamins A, D and E, all powerful antioxidants too .
This bar has an extra creaminess that your skin will love. Scented with sweet mint and herbal bay laurel, it's cool, fresh and mild. It's helpful for mature skin, sun damaged or sunburned skin, or as a dreamy facial soap, but it feels so darn good everyone should try it.
