Spring might possibly be the most anticipated season of all. After a long, cold, brutal winter, everybody is yearning for a little warmth, a bit more sunshine, a pop of green in the grey world.
Hibernating is fun at first, and then it gets boring and restless. Spring shows up with hope. And flowers.
You don’t have to be a gardener dreaming over seed catalogs to be inspired by spring’s promise of new life, new beginnings and fresh starts. We all have our resolutions and wish lists waiting longingly for the forecast to change. Mother nature hears your hearts and is sending along her most beautiful season. Spring waltzes gracefully our way, sprinkling tiny buds and delicate blossoms, giving us more than enough reasons to shed our winter coats, crack a smile, and shine in a new year of possibility.
NEW - SPRING SEASONAL SOAPS
Spring fragrances are naturally light and fresh. Frolicking in the new grass, dancing playfully in the blooming garden, this season’s calling card is clean and pure, soft, sweet and pretty. These new scents are limited in production and available February thru April. ($ 5.00 each)
CHAMOMILE LEMON - This is equal parts zesty, sunny, lemon and herbal chamomile flowers. If you’re familiar with chamomile tea, then you know the delicate scent of those dainty flowers, known for their soothing and calming benefits. Chamomile is revered for its ability to induce calm, peace and well-being for your spirit, as well as calming and soothing inflammation in skin. The bright citrus is the perfect partner for an early spring day, lifting moods and energizing souls.
BABY LOVE – If you’ve been with me for a decade or so, then you might remember my somewhat famous Baby Love soap. I made it from the very beginning, over 20 years ago – a mix of a classic baby powder scent, with a bit of pear fruitiness, pretty rose petals, and soft jasmine. It was a blend of a couple of really beautiful fragrance oils and then poof – both of those fragrances were no longer being manufactured. After lots of anguish, I decided to discontinue that soap. But people still remember it fondly and request it often. So this spring I’m making my best attempt at duplicating it. While not exactly the same, it’s the same basic profile. A bit of classic baby powder, maybe a bit less than before, but also fresh, soft floral and a little pear – the scrumptiousness of a baby’s sweetness after a bath. It’s really very pretty, and not just for babies. Gentle enough for tender skin yet beloved by pretty much everyone – bottom line: irresistible.
PINK PEONY – I’m not a “flower” type gal. So to say that this is the most beautiful floral scent I’ve smelled in possibly forever – that’s something. It’s modern not perfume-y. It’s fresh not cloying. The official description mentions crazy things like cassis, dandelion greens, honey as well as peony petals, which means that it’s carefully blended to be the most sparkling, elegant version of a peony bouquet that your imagination can come up with. All the freshness straight from the garden or flower shop – the dewy green leaves, the nectar of a fresh-cut stem, the lush sweet blossoms – it’s mesmerizing and elegant, and you’ll want to luxuriate in it every day this spring.
DEW DROP – This is a water scent. And I know what you’re thinking - that water doesn’t actually smell like anything. But one sniff of Dew Drop and you will realize that this is *exactly* what water smells like. Zen-like and pure: dew-drenched delicate stems and tender leaves on a cool spring morning. Spring rain mixed with aloe vera under a spa shower. Soft, light, lovely, It’s just clean, clean, wet and clean.
SPRING AROMATIC SPRAYS
Although available year round, these two aromatic sprays are the perfect accessory to Spring. JASMINE LEMON and LILAC GARDEN are fresh, romantic fragrances, lovely spritzers for everything imaginable. Delightful as body sprays, or a happy scent for linens, rooms, closets, or cars, either one of them is a lovely pick-me-up for anywhere.
