Soap Love
My love for handmade soap goes beyond my own creations. In fact, stockpiling enough beautiful soaps to last a lifetime was my hobby before I even started attempting to make it myself. I loved nothing more than browsing the shelves of pretty soaps and trying ever kind I could get my hands on - local handmade, fancy European, special organic blends . . all of it.
That passion is one of the reasons I decided to experiment with making a batch myself. And that’s all it took. One batch. I was hooked on the magic of how it blended together and all the fun and creative things you could do with scents, colors, nutrient ingredients, special moisturizers. I decided to start a business, cooked up a name, nabbed a business license and sent out my first newsletter all within a month or two.
It was September 1996 when the lightbulb went off, and I already started selling soaps for Christmas gifts that same year. The rest is history (long, long, ancient, history).
From time to time I’m going to post pics of “other people’s soap” that I think are interesting and beautiful. Some I still buy because I can’t help myself. Others I just drool over. This summer I’m obsessed with sea salt and ocean water. All I want to do it float.
If this has you inspired, we’ve got a new summer soap of Sea Salt + Surf, loaded with mineral rich sea salts and the freshest, loveliest marine scent. It’s my #1 in the shower right now.
